    Advanced Technology, Next-Generation Graphics, and I/O Flexibility
    The Intel® E7505 chipset is comprised of three core components, which offer platform implementation flexibility to meet the demanding needs of dual-processor (DP) workstations.

    The Intel® E7505 Memory Controller Hub (MCH) is the central hub for all data passing through core system elements, such as: the dual Intel Xeon processors via the system bus interface; the memory subsystem through a dual-channel DDR memory interface; the graphics subsystem over an AGP 8X interface; I/O controller hubs via Intel® Hub Interface architecture. The Intel E7505 chipset delivers the compelling performance of 4.3 GB/s of bandwidth across a 533 MHz system bus and up to 4.3 GB/s of bandwidth across two high-performance Double-Data-Rate (DDR) SDRAM memory channels. The MCH offers the designer the flexibility to support either unbuffered or registered memory. The high data throughput of these interfaces augment the direct attach AGP 8X interface, which delivers up to 2.1 GB/s of graphics data.

    The Intel® 82870P2 64-bit PCI/PCI-X Controller Hub 2 connects to the MCH through a point-to-point 16-bit Hub Interface connection. The Intel 82870P2 64-bit PCI/PCI-X controller hub 2 device extends over 1.0 GB/s of I/O bandwidth to two independent 64-bit PCI-X segments operating at 133/100/66 MHz. Each 64-bit PCI-X segment supports next-generation components such as Intel® Gigabit Ethernet adapters and multiple PCI-X or PCI slots.

    The Intel® 82801DB I/O Controller Hub (ICH4) connects to the MCH through a point-to-point Hub Interface 1.5 connection. The Intel® ICH4 offers greater bandwidth for I/O-intensive peripherals through an integrated controller for six Hi-Speed USB 2.0 ports. In addition, the ICH4 adds new audio and power management capabilities.








    The Intel® E7205 chipset represents the next step in entry workstation chipset technology for the Intel® Pentium® 4 processor. The Intel E7205 chipset design provides a compelling transition to next-generation workstation-class technologies by delivering support for Hyper-Threading Technology along with maximized system bus, memory, and graphics bandwidth.

Connectivity to advanced networking components and peripherals is provided via the Intel® 82801DB I/O Controller Hub. Also, the Intel E7205 chipset supports Hyper-Threading Technology. Together, these features deliver a balanced, high throughput, system for demanding workstation-class applications.

    The Intel® 82801DB I/O Controller Hub (ICH4) connects to the MCH through a point-to-point Hub Interface 1.5 connection. The Intel® ICH4 provides 32-bit PCI connectivity to Intel Gigabit Ethernet adapters. Additionally, the ICH4 includes integration for up to six ports of Hi-Speed USB 2.0; offering greater bandwidth for I/O-intensive peripherals. New power management and audio capabilities are also incorporated into this component.

    兩個都是雙通道DDR(DDR266)晶片組
    7205定位為工作站用晶片組
    (主機板廠商打算把它當作高階桌上型電腦用晶片組)
    7505定位為Server用

    據我所知..
    這款晶片組的定位不是在個人用戶吧...|||
    而是定位在工作站上 用在Xeon上

    7205的主要定位是取代850E + PC1066 RDRAM.....
    (正確應該是PC800...850E畢竟不正式支援PC1066)
    不過現在XEON也是跌價的有夠誇張....|||
    名人3C報價XEON 1.8AG竟然"才"6900......|||||
    倒是主機板比較貴...||| E7500雙通道DDR的主機板一張少說破18K.....
    因為廠商都是做成SMP運作
    (XEON也沒看過單處理器的主機板吧!?)

    試想.....E7205出來以後.....
    DDR不會貴到哪去.....倒是主機板得砸點銀子下去......|||||
