While in Safe Mode do two things:
1. Use Start - Run - REGEDIT.
Use Edit - Find and search for PPTCHPAD
For each key or value found, use File - Export to save the contents to
your hard drive. Name the files pptch1, pptch2, etc. Then use File -
Delete to delete the item from the registry.
2. After finishing the Registry use Start - Find and search your hard
drive for files named PPTCHPAD.* When the file is found (it will
probably be a .VXD file but could be a .386 file or perhaps some other
extension) right click on the file name and choose Properties. The
Version tab should tell you who created the file and which application or
device it belongs to.
Shut down and restart the computer normally. Your problem should be
resolved but whatever device it is that PPTCHPAD is associated with will
probably not function correctly until the software for it is reinstalled.
