許多國文老師在強調標點符號的重要性時，常舉將「下雨，天留客，天留，我不留」重新句讀為「下雨天，留客天，留我不？留！」的例子。
而下面兩封信，則是英文老師用以凸顯標點符號重要性的好例子。
