"Every part of the CD is provided with a laser power calibration area - here's the spot where the laser adjusts its power to suit the medium. If the lens is dirty or foggy or whatever, it's too "hard" for the cd-rw or cd-r to be written. Sometimes the Cd-re/writer gives up and tells the computer "No seek complete". I suggest cleaning your lens professionally - not with those cleaning discs they don't even do a good job. They'll need to open it up and clean the lens and objective mirror etc etc."
