Taipei, Taiwan - According to our Taiwanese correspondent, those who have bought the new Athlon XP are in luck as the Taiwanese distributor are asking retailers to return their unsold Athlon XP to the distributor and new stocks are not available to replenish the hot market. The distributor told the retailers that AMD is recalling the CPUs. Why is AMD stopping the distributor to distribute to the retailers remains a mystrey..
Update : AMD US responded to a number of queries and said that AMD has not recalled any AMD Athlon XP processors. We continue to ramp shipments of the world's highest-performance processor for desktop PCs.”
