Three Japanese cable operators deploy Bigband modular CMTS

Bigband Networks announced that three Japanese cable operators are deploying modular cable modem termination system (M-CMTS) with Bigband’s Cuda CMTS.
Cable Networks Akita, Hino Cable Television and Bay Communications are using Bigband’s M-CMTS solution to roll out high-speed data services that can achieve download speeds up to 120 megabits-per-second (Mbps) for some subscribers.
Bigband also announced that—in conjunction with Japanese partner Nissho Electronics — it wii be demonstrating the ability of its M-CMTS solution to deliver IPTV at the ongoing Japan Cable TV & Telecommunications Show 2007 this weekend.
Bay Communications and Cable Networks Akita have already begun rolling out high-speed data services to offer speeds up to 120 Mbps leveraging the Cuda-based M-CMTS with channel bonding.
Hino Cable Television has upgraded its existing deployment of the Cuda 12000 to an M-CMTS architecture to expand the 25 Mbps downstream service to subscribers and roll out 120 Mbps downstream high-speed data service with channel bonding.
目前只找到Arris及Bigband的實際建置的新聞..
其他Cisco及Motorola目前能找到都只是testing or demo的消息..
上述的新聞會再到各家官網再做一次確認後整理,俾使消息正確無誤..
Cisco及Bigband channel bonding適用的modem
在台灣已經有廠商接日本的單要生產..只是不確定order是誰下的..
不過就算日韓如此..台灣應該還有得等..
畢竟目前的FTTB or FTTx在相關條件來說並沒什麼高深技術,
大部份都只是直接以Ethernet接取的,簡單多了..
而channel bonding 要增加3個下行頻道,是可以用來節目上架的
如果走M-CMTS的需要增加edgaQAM的設備及修改架構..
而走I-CMTS Arris雖然ok但Modem相對稍貴..
Motorola我沒實際玩過,不確定其CPU Loading如何..
再等個一陣子,如果廠商能進SB6100的話就玩得到..
因為I-CMTS 的 channel bonding 目前是靠Software處理,
CMTS CPU要夠強才行..不夠強的應該不想這麼做 ... ... ... . ... ... ... .
